Very interesting as I have discovered the same--i.e., brighter students
watch the Daily Show. I'm covering Social Psychology and love showing the
tape of Zimbardo's interview on the Daily Show about "The Lucifer Effect,"
and his Prison Experiment. It's amusing and yet gets the point across
well. It can be accessed by going to "Zimbardo's Prison Experiment" web
site and then click on the upper right FAQ to media interviews. When you
click on the Daily show, you still need to search for "zimbardo" to get to
his interview but it is well worth your effort.

Back to the point at hand, when I ask my classes if they have ever watched
the Daily show, consistently very few students have EVER seen it. This
could be for various reasons; i.e., work so many hours and/or, as Rick
posted, this generation doesn't watch that much TV. However, across the
board, those few in each class who do watch Stewart (isn't that how his
name is spelled?), are among the brightest.
