I think it is interesting that Chris seems to believe that at least some people 
can be "trapped" withing an exclusively religious mindset.
   
  I doubt very much if such people are anymore "trapped" than any other 
(including those "trapped" by an exclusivley scientific mindset). And besides, 
I doubt any person alive has such an exclusive mindset (whether scientific or 
religious).
   
  And as further comment: Most of the Christians I know fully appreciate the 
import and value of evolutionary theory without giving up their religious 
mindset. And, contrary to popular belief, they are not worried or stressed 
about science or its investigations at all. But rather see scientific 
investigation as a most useful procedure to gain information about the natural 
world.

I also wanted to comment that it isn't all about evidence. Evidence is 
precisely evidence, because it is in support of ideas. Ideas can exist without 
evidence, but the reverse is not true.
