There is a special group of Kurdish fighters who take an oath of celibacy as
part of of their revolutionary spirit.
Did Clark Hull say anything about whether a suppression (or inhibition Ir) of
one drive may enhance an increase
in another drive -and in this case- aggression.I am aware that in the case of
approach-avoidance conflict,an increase in
one gradient woild diminish the opposite gradient. But the issue I am raising
has to do with the effects of celibacy
on other drives. And could this be illusionary because the sex drive is very
different from the other drives, for examples.
one will not die without sex, it is not present at birth, and it is the only
drive where one seeks an arousal as the reinforciing
element. In addition the degree of the sex drive is independent of its
deprivation status.
And while on this subject, while the Frank Beach studies did show the effects of
castration pn sexual behavior, were there other behaviors tested on those
castrated rats.
