Michael- You say, "I never suggested that marmosets live in the desert."  If so 
someone is posting in your name, methinks. Here is a quote directly from your 
post:

"I do not expect marmosets  to  do the same in a desert environment void of
twigs."

That appeared to me to say that Marmosets lived in "a desert environment void 
of twigs". Don't know how I could have been so far off base.
