No one ever claimed that Lashley was the first to discover brain 
localization (indeed Lashley was opposed to strong localization 
doctrine). Hippocrates (or, rather, the ancient Greek physicians who 
called themselves  "Hippocratics") noted the contralaterality of motor 
function over 2000 years ago.
