Hi Not that I know of, although I would not take that as any evidence that similar attitudes are not prevalent among politicians here. There is at present debates about a proposal for a government Minister (Culture I think?) to be able to veto grants to cultural organizations (e.g., for making movies) that might offend Canadian sensibilities. And this could be done even after the grants have been awarded and spent. Various groups have protested as one might imagine. Although perhaps unlikely, one could imagine the Minister for Industry (under which granting agencies fall I believe) wanting to veto certain research projects.
