Michael- I can see how someone in the general public could say that because the govnt wants us to think. It is not factual. Also, if you check the facts re Kansas arrests for THC and related compounds during the period you quote you will find that the statement you made is in error. That pot is "so much stronger" today is a fabrication based on improper analysis and storage (as stated by others). It is true that plants vary in THC (and other compounds) and their concentrations based on water, soil, mineral content, where grown, sun exposure, crowding, etc. But careful research either supports the idea of near equality or shows that the research suggesting potency increases is fatally flawed (but conveniently support the ideas of a ludicrous government policy structure). Increased THC connection to ER visits is clearly the result of better THC tests administered more often and a failure to follow up on what precipitated the hospital visit. Acapulco Gold- please. :) Acapulco Gold was largely a placebo effect. It got to the point that everything on the street was labeled that much like today everything is identified as coming from north of the border simply because of the belief systems on the street- can you say placebo. The CNN data are largely what they have been fed due to well established willingness to pander to public sentiment and fears (or any of several iterations of journalistic incompetence or laziness). Beth Benoit Granite State College New Hampshire Yes! according to a CNN health report. There apparently is an increased potency as compared to the 60s.The strongest in the 60s was Acapulco Gold. And the pot grown in Kansas was so bad that the cops did not bother to arrest anyone caught with Kansas pot.
