Hi,

APA Division 21 (Applied Experimental & Engineering Psychology) is,
once again, pleased to be sponsoring Games To Explain Human Factors: Come,
Participate, Learn and Have Fun!!! for high school and college students
and teachers. This year's presentation team will include high school
teachers Riki Koenigsberg, Eileen McKenna, and Tack Chase and APA 2005
Washington DC Games Champion Dr. Sharon Grossman as well as myself.

If you'll be in town, please try to join us for our brief (50 minute)
session in which we will explain what Engineering Psychology/Human Factors
is, introduce the Games program and demonstrate several activities.

If you won't be coming to APA or have prior commitments on Friday
afternoon, but would like a copy of the session for use in your classroom
please just send me a note ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) including your request,
the school where you teach, address and phone number and the psychology
classes you teach. I will email the presentation to you. Since it is
nearly 150 pages long and does contain photos the file size is almost 5
meg, so please be sure that your email box can handle a 5 meg file (e.g.,
be sure it is not too full and that your mail box provider allows 5 meg
files... Most providers allow 5 meg files, today).

If you would like to arrange to have this session at your school,
that can also (most likely) be arranged. Our presentation team does not
charge speaker's fees, but supply and travel reimbursement is frequently
requested.

I do hope to meet you in Boston.

     Enjoy the summer!!!

Ron

Session abstract:
Would you like to have a portfolio of games and activities to help you
explain thinking, learning, problem solving, and information processing?
Would this understanding help your students to learn and communicate more
effectively?
A dynamic, interactive, hands-on session will be held at APA 2008
consisting of several fun games that explain how people process
information, including such topics as: sensation, perception, attention,
thinking, assuming, interpreting, interfering, learning, memory,
responding, feedback and reinforcement.
The session promises to be informative and fun and will help you be a
better teacher and learner! You might even win a prize!
