Michael- I'll bite. Our department supports our Environmental Studies major. We
team teach the "Nature and Culture"
course that every major has to take- this movie makes for an excellent
discussion starter! I can also think of direct uses in Environmental Psychology
classes (also for discussion) and your mention of the score would also provoke
excellent discussions. (For example, play it with the "proper" score and then
insert parts with some other "non-fitting" score and look at the differing
"meanings" that come from the presentation (Thus it could fit into all kinds of
discussions on emotion, visual and audition interactions, etc.). I've used the
"shower scene" from the Psycho DVD to the same purpose as you can play it with
and without the score. :)

he movie is great and the music was unforgettable. The movie had a
lot to say about society, but offhand I can't think of any
psychological connection. Hmm...anybody?
