I too was a little confused about Michael Sylvester's comment
about Zimbardo marrying one of the participants of the Stanford
Prison Experiment given that it only used males. However,
Zimbardo clearly identifies Christina Maslach in the documentary
"Quiet Rage" as both the graduate student who brought him
back to reality and as his future wife ("future" at the time of SPE).
And to answer Michael Sylvester's original question, no, this
would not be a case of "reverse Stockholm syndrome?"
As for whether the women all got "As" in the classes of the
professors they would marry, I would predict that is probably
the case for famous or well-known psychologists (e.g.,
J.J. Gibson, Martin Seligman) but less so for psychologists
who are not so well known. I admit to not having data on
this point. However, what about male professors who only
have affairs with females students? Did they all get "As"?

any of the participants of the Stanford Prison study. Christina Maslach, his
wife, did visit the study and evidently pointed out to him the ethical
issues and suggested he shut it down early which he did after six days of a
project that was expected to go much longer. At least that's what I heard.

I have known of many psychology profs in that situation. All the wives got
A grades.
