It is my understanding, based on hallway conversations form someone who DOES know this area, that it is a 24 hour clock with a margin of error, and the margin of error allows the clock to drift, which permits adjustments and resettings. As to why, in a cave, it drifts to 25 and not 23, I may ask him. Most of us have a tendency to stay up later when stimuli are present ..... and isn;t it true that in the "cave" research participamts are free to keep lights on as long as they wish?
