Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience Date of Appointment: August, 2009 Responsibilities: The position requires teaching courses at the graduate level in school psychology and supervision of field placements for school psychology doctoral students. Primary teaching responsibilities may include: tests and measures in education, cognitive assessment, multicultural psychology, and other courses to support the graduate program and/or major. Some undergraduate level teaching is possible. The position also requires the advising of dissertations, active engagement in scholarship, continuing preparation within the field, and service to the university, community and discipline. Minimum Qualifications: * An earned doctorate in school psychology or highly related field (e.g., educational psychology, special education) to be earned by date of hire. * Demonstrated potential for strong graduate teaching. * Demonstrated success or strong potential for strong productivity in research, grant writing and scholarship. * Ability to incorporate issues of gender, race, ethnicity, and disability in course materials. Preferred Qualifications / Other Considerations: * Potential to obtain state or national licensure/certification in school psychology. * Experience supervising school psychology students in field placements. * Advanced training and experiences in psychometrics, counseling, and services to diverse students. * Local, state, or national service to the discipline. * At least two years of practice as a school psychologist. * Earned degree from an institution with NASP and APA accreditation. Major Responsibilities: The department is most interested in applicants with interest/experience in teaching classes in Tests and Measures in Education, Cognitive Assessment, and the Second Year and Fourth Year Practicum class. Interest/experience in teaching a course in Multicultural School Psychology is also desired. It would also be expected that this faculty member contribute to the diversity of the department, and to the development and implementation of a strategic process for recruiting underrepresented groups into school psychology.
