Certainly. One would have to be naïve to believe that a politician would 
answer such a question truthfully rather than in a manner which would buy 
him/her the most votes. An honest politician? What a refreshing concept. 

Nevertheless, the absence of a scientist from their choices is revealing.
One of the two candidates could have at least picked Francis Collins, 
thereby satisfying both the religious and scientific communities. But why 
bother?
