In Arab culture throwing shoes at someone is considered to be an expression of contempt for that person. Is there an underlying Frudian significance to shoes? Apparently this practice exists in other cultures and other situations- so it could also be construed as archetypal behavior(Carl Jung). Maybe the die-hard Freudians on the list(Esterson,Britt) can offer a comment.
