All FYI- Can't say as I've heard of any "official" band in New York for this years events- that may depend on what network you are watching. But as to the demise of the Guy Lombardo band, see: http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/12/30/a-new-years-gig-1765-miles-from-the-waldorf/?partner=rss&emc=rss The band is performing for New Years Eve but in Santa Fe, NM. Skimming the article, there are still 3 members of the last Guy Lombardo band, all semi-retired, who still play occasionally with the band. (Stephen is correct about the year of passing for the Guy himself.) Tim

A little difficult for him these days, since he joined the choir invisible back in 1977. I do recall eating at a Chinese restaurant outside London, Ontario many years ago, which claimed to be the Guy's childhood home, but it wasn't very good and I don't recommend it. Of course, the house in Washington where John Wilks Booth planned the assassination of Abrahan Lincoln is probably a much better Chinese restaurant (called "Wok and Roll"; see Jennifer 8. Lee's video at http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/jennifer_8_lee_looks_for_general_tso.ht ml or http://tinyurl.com/9gzgw5 I have no idea what this proves but I'm sure it's significant.
