Yes indeed. That was the point. Perhaps it wasn't a huff you left in; 
could have been a snit (not a bad way to travel either). You were 
offended at the alarming volume of mail (not much has changed, has it?) 

I remember, because your parting message put me in a snit, but as you 
returned, I have forgiven you, and traded the snit in for a Honda Civic. 

As the early archives are inaccessible, we're left with our unverifiable  
(and, as we know only too well,  possibly false) memories. Perhaps Bill 
Southerly can help resolve this if his records allow. If you only 
subscribed once, I'm wrong.

And how could such a thing be?

BTW, I've been able to dredge up from the mail archives a post from me 
dated August 6, 1999 in which I forward to the list an announcement from 
you on another list that day of the availability of "Classics in the 
History of Psychology". I suspect this was before you subscribed to TIPS 
for the first time.
