Some tipsters have turned my comment about Myers text to appear as if I was 
attacking the author's character.Come on: since when a statement about a text 
is a statement about the personality function about an author. This happens 
because some tipsters do not read my original post and  comments are  based on 
a seconfary source of a secondary source.I must ask  Elizabeth Loftus to 
examine fabrication behavior among tipsters. I never said Dave Myers is a 
millionaire.As a matter of fact my millionaire statement was not in the same 
post re Myers text. I did explain what I meant by my millionaire statement  and 
yet some tipsters remained obstinate and obdurate in 
attributing the unintended meaning to me.Now to answer your questions:
I remembered going through Myers text in its earlier editions(at that time the 
ancilliaries were in a blue box) and I found the text boring, bland, and lacked 
exuberance. Now just because I felt that  mean that others felt the same way.
I do not doubt that later editions might have changed .Btw,I do not believe 
that text elaborations  by adding a few critical thinking inserts here and 
there and some cross-cultural inserts here and there are valid criteria for the 
the extended variables.As the cross-cultural dude on Tips,real cross-cultural 
means that the assumptions of the Eurocentric paradigm is laid flat because 
other paradigms should be equal and not just extensions of the Eurocentric 
paradigm to other cultures. Actually Myers text is really a "Johnny come 
lately" re the Ccross-cultural perspective.There were earlier texts that 
focused on some degree in adapting to  the  changing demographics of the 
American classroom.There was a text called The world of psychology put out by 
Allyn and Bacon that had ESL addenda. Dennis Coon texts were cross-culturally 
friendly. Btw,just because a iext comes with all those
media and computer gizmos imply that the writing style of the core text has 
changed. Interestingly enough,when taking Psychology to other cultures one may 
need to use concepts that are more indigenous to a certain region and 
culture.There must be an emic-etic distinction.I suspect that students overseas 
still are encouraged to use their imagination.World wide acceptance of a text 
probably has more to do with marketing skills.I would curious for some members 
of the UN to view some texts and choose some for the classroom in their 
countries.U.S society is very visual.We live on the assumption that if we 
improve the visuals it will be stamped on the brain.Real education depends on 
the theatre of thinking not on holding an iPod.
Well that's it. Hope my subjective explanation helps to explain my sublective 
evaluation.
