HI Bill. Can you set me to no mail for a while. I have had it with Michael Sylvester. I am sooooooo done.
I will miss tips as I much prefer it in most ways to psychteach but he's over the top for me. The veiled ad hominem attacks are too much. This is relevant because it increases the chances that his email address may have been changed often by the place of employment when a decision is made to change everyone's address. > >For example, Bob was able to get his message on TIPS when he sent the post from his email address "[email protected]" [ see the From line below], however if you look at his post that was rejected it indicates that the email address [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> was not found. Bob is subcribed under the email address [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> thus when he tried to post a message from the [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> address it was rejected since that address is not listed on TIPS. Often when these changes are made, the person still receives mail under both the old address and the new one and may not even know that mail he sends out may go out under the new email address not the old one. > >The solution - if the change in email address is permanent then one simply needs to go to the TIPS web address: >http://acsun.frostburg.edu/cgi-bin/lyris.pl? enter=tips&text_mode=0&lang=english >enter using the old address and password (if one was set - if not leave blank) and then change the email address once you enter the account. > >If the subscriber will be using more than one address (the key is the address as it looks when you are sending mail, that is, what shows up in the From on the receving end), then the solution is to go to the TIPS web address and subscrbe (Join) under the new address and then set one of the accounts to the NOMAIL option. Thus, the TIPS software will recognize mail being sent from either address while you only receive one copy of the mail. > >Let me know if there are still any questions. > >Bill > > > > > >Bill Southerly >Department of Psychology >Frostburg State University >Frostburg, MD 21532 >301-687-4778 >[email protected] > >________________________________ > >From: Robert Grossman [mailto:[email protected]] >Sent: Tue 12/19/2006 1:16 PM >To: Teaching in the Psychological Sciences (TIPS) >Subject: [tips] my status > > > >I thought I was a member of TIPS for quite sometime but just had a message >rejected for lack of membership. > >"Sorry, but Lyris ListManager did not find your email address >-> "[email protected]" > >listed as a member of tips. > >Only members of tips are allowed to contribute messages. > >Because Lyris ListManager could not confirm that you are a member of tips, >your message was not accepted." > >I would like to correct this problem. > >bob Grossman >[email protected] >Kalamazoo College > > >--- >To make changes to your subscription go to: >http://acsun.frostburg.edu/cgi-bin/lyris.pl? enter=tips&text_mode=0&lang=english <http://acsun.frostburg.edu/cgi- bin/lyris.pl?enter=tips&text_mode=0<=english> > > > >________________ >TNEF27.rtf (21k bytes) >________________ >--- >To make changes to your subscription go to: >http://acsun.frostburg.edu/cgi-bin/lyris.pl? enter=tips&text_mode=0&lang=english > --- To make changes to your subscription contact: Bill Southerly ([email protected])
