For those of you looking for critical thinking exercises for various classes,
may I alert you to the EFT Newsletter. It brightens my day fairly often with an
abundance of opportunities to think critically about therapeutic techniques.
Just today, the following arrived. Now I know that some of you have been
skeptical of published empirical reports of the effectiveness of intercessory
prayer. Now comes news that EFT (involving tapping exercises) can work, not
just with a client but with someone else who is just thinking about the person
in need of EFT. I heartily recommend this newsletter to you for which there
seems to be no end of examples to use in critical thinking exercises. BTW, this
technique seems to be effective not just with emotional trauma but also all
manner of physical disorders (see Featured Article #1 for an example). In fact,
it seems that the fact that effectiveness has not been shown in the treatment
of any particular physical disorder seems largely due to the fact that no one
has yet tried EFT on it.

Featured Article #1: Photo results of four minutes of EFT for polyarthritis
http://www.emofree.com/Pain-management/polyarthritis-relief-eft.htm: Can you
imagine the huge relief resulting from the benefits displayed in the photos?
Not every EFT session ends in such a dramatic result and EFT newcomer Brigitte
Schiechel from Germany deserves an applause for providing it. Note that this
result was generated by tapping along with a session from our DVD Libraries
https://www.emoree.com/eftstore.

Featured Article #2: Surrogate tapping for the fear of flying
http://www.emofree.com/Fear/surrogate-flying-fear-judy.htm: Judy Whitcraft
taps with Hank's wife in behalf of Hank's intense fear of flying. Note that
Hank was not present during this surrogate tapping session but got noticeable
results anyway. Note also that Hank may be much farther along than he thinks.
This may be a result of the "fear of the fear" that Judy explains near the end
of her article.

Featured Article #3: Releasing chaotic behavior through EFT
http://www.emofree.com/Articles2/chaotic-behavior.htm: Nanditha Ram from the
UK brings us this useful case involving one of her clients. The client says, "I
have struggled for years to overcome my tendency to generate chaos - I am
famous for losing my keys, misplacing my phone or important papers, and for
being quite a chaotic home-maker in general, coupled with a predisposition to
procrastinate." Anyone recognize themselves in this description?

"That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood....Homes have been
lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our
schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we
use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet. These are the
indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics. Less measurable but no
less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land - a nagging fear that
America's decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its
sights."
