This is a good one and illustrates something I suspect is a difference between now and 40 years ago when Latane and Darley were breaking ground on these studies. Cell phones and 911.
One of the critical points at which helping breaks down is assuming responsibility and deciding what to do. Cell phones and 911 make it easy to intervene. We don't need to seek out a pay phone or otherwise seek aid. No surprise, the out-group effects continue to occur. And, it illustrates the 'interpret as an emergency' point when they add the alcohol. Thanks! I'll be using it in a few weeks. -- Paul Bernhardt Frostburg State University Frostburg, MD, USA On 3/12/09 4:13 PM, "Julie Osland" <[email protected]> wrote: > Tipsters-- > > ABC has a pretty good video titled "Aiding the Fallen" (about 8 minutes > in length) from their "What would you do?" series featuring > > John QuiƱones.
