Hi TIPS Friends,
It has been a long time since I have offered my
presentation/instruction manual for *Games To Explain Human Factors: Come,
Participate, Learn and Have Fun!!! *to the TIPS community. Indeed, my
employment and email address have changed since my last offer. I've retired
from IBM and am now an independent consultant. My new Email is
[email protected].
For the benefit of new members to TIPS, *Games* is a combined
presentation and instruction manual which explains human capabilities and
limitations and introduces the field of Human Factors/Ergonomics to High
School, College and University students and professionals in other
disciplines.
This year, I will be offering the *Games* session at the APA Convention
in Toronto on Friday August 7 from 08:00 to 09:50 AM in meeting rooms 201E
and F and the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. I hope that many of you will
come and invite your students and colleagues (especially Professors and
Teaching Asistants with Introductory or Genral Psychology responsibilities
and High School Teachers) to do the same.
I recognize that travel may be difficult for many this year. Thus, I
am continuing my offer to send the presentation/instruction manual to
Psychology Faculty at no charge. The 2009 edition is now available. Simply
send me a note requesting it to [email protected]. (Do
*not*send to everyone on TIPS or to my old email address.) Be sure
that your
note provides documentation listing your name, school, subjects taught and
contact information as this offer is not open to the general population. Be
sure that the email address can accept a 5 meg file.
If you would like me to offer the presentation to your psychology club
or similar organization I'm willing to do that also. Normally I do not
charge a speakers fee and do not accept honoraria. I do request expense
reimbursement. This year I am going a bit further. If you would really
like the presentation for your school for this academic year, but budget is
getting in the way I will help to partially subsidize travel and/or prizes
for a limited number of presentations. Lets discuss the options. (I also
offer the presentation as well as consulting services to businesses and
industry at very competitive rates.)
I'd also be pleased to send you my *Preparing for Your Career with a
Psychology Degree *presentation.
I do look forward to hearing from you soon.
*Ron*
