How about the case of Marilyn Vos Savant and the Monty Hall problem?
She is claimed with some substance to have the world's highest IQ. But
while she has done well, she has never achieved to the Olympian heights
predicted by her IQ performance. Yet she correctly solved the Monty Hall
problem when many failed, including professional mathematicians.
