Some things I find funny as abstractions and not because I don't like students (in fact, I like them and try to help them as much as I can):
I give students an ANOVA HW assignment that involves interpreting verbally the two main effects and the interaction between them. The situation involves job effectiveness ratings given to police officers. The first hypothesized main effect is sex of the officer and the second main effect is delay of the rating. There might also be an interaction between them. The first main effect resulted in some interesting interpretations. Two of them were: It does matter if you are male or female: F(1, 76)=5.20, p=.025. The difference between different sexes is significant, [F (1, 76) =5.2, p=0.025] Rick Dr. Rick Froman, Chair Division of Humanities and Social Sciences John Brown University Siloam Springs, AR 72761 [email protected] ________________________________________ --- To make changes to your subscription contact: Bill Southerly ([email protected])
