Edward "Ted" Carr was killed on Saturday, June 20, in a car crash out on Long Island, not too far from the SUNY-Stony Brook campus. Details are available at the following:
http://www.newsday.com/news/local/suffolk/ny-webdwi2112904889jun21,0,4610612.story I had gotten my Ph.D. at Stony Brook and as a graduate student I had my office across the hall from Ted. Although I was in experimental psychology, my office mate was a developmental psychology grad student who would do his Ph.D. with Ted. Ted was a nice guy, a little "quirky", and friendly, stopping by my office to converse with my mate or me. After I had graduated, I heard that Ted had re-married but what made this unusual was that Ted, a behavior modifier by training, had taken up with a female clinician with a psychodynamic orientation. It was a head-shaker but Ted was the kind of guy who could make it work. He will be missed. -Mike Palij New York University [email protected] --- To make changes to your subscription contact: Bill Southerly ([email protected])
