Does anyone have any experience using Gnumeric (http://projects.gnome.org/gnumeric) in a statistics class? It is free for personal use, it is open source and it is based on R and seems to do most all of what Excel does (including the data analysis toolpak) and more (and more accurately according to reports). It also has a very cool feature that allows for output (such as an ANOVA summary table) to put formulas instead of values in the cells that print out. It is this feature that really got me excited about using it to teach concepts in a stat class. Has anyone had any experience using this program with a class?
