I seem to recall that Rex Harrison came to realise he had fallen in love with Audrey Hepburn...

In our "sophisticated" modern times no doubt there are people who argue that Laurel and Hardy must have been gay -- after all they quite often slept in the same bed! But those were more innocent times (and,who knows, maybe more sensible in some ways -- though certainly not in others, before people jump in to protest!).
