We've used Comer's text for years in Abnormal. Highly recommended, as it's got a balance of depth and readability. Also, the ancillaries (particularly short film segments and such) are great. Comer, R.J. (2010). Abnormal Psychology (7th ed.) New York: Worth.
I teach theories of personality, and I have never found a book I have LOVED. I use Burger: Burger, J.M. (2008) Personality (7th edition). Belmont, CA: Wadsworth. Good luck!
