I am embarrassed to ask this question because I should know the answer, but I have a bad cold and am on lots of drugs (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it). How is drug addiction explained in terms of operant conditioning? I can explain it using words, but when I try to employ my four-cell contingency table I screw myself up. I realize this model is an inadequate explanation for drug addiction, but I need to present it clearly before I critique it.
Thanks, Carol (who really does know more about operant conditioning than this message implies...)
