From a British Council webpage on the April 2009 UK Mori opinion poll on evolution:
"Nearly a quarter of Londoners and 16 per cent of people in the UK believe in creationism - the idea that life on Earth was created by a God, a British Council survey has revealed." http://tinyurl.com/yhobb9r How come a sophisticated city like London has a disproportionate number of people believing in creationism? No doubt because of this figure from the 2001 UK Census: "40 percent of Londoners belong to ethnic minorities." (It's almost certainly higher now.) http://www.lho.org.uk/LHO_Topics/Health_Topics/Populations/EthnicMinorities.aspx Note: From British Council webpage: "However, the [Mori] survey also revealed that one-in-five British adults had not spent any time thinking about the origins of species and life on earth, which rises to more than a third of those resident in Scotland."
