I ask students to turn their phones off, and I tell them I will keep mine on, but on "Vibrate only," because I THINK it will still make the Text Message beep, so that if a security alert is sent out (we had one a couple of nights ago - thankfully all was okay), but now I'm wondering. Does anyone know if the phone will still make its beep for a Text, or would that be on vibrate too? I may have to experiment a little...
