Blaine et al.,
Here's the email I received with instructions to either download the changes or
to request a replacement copy. APA sent me a prepaid mailing label to return my
book, but won't send me a replacement until they receive the copy I sent.

Subject: RE: 6th edition of Style Manual

Dear Julie A. Penley, PhD:

Thank you for your email. We regret that there were errors in the 6th edition
of the Publication Manual and the inconvenience this has caused you. We are
working on ways to make it right.

We have produced a detailed corrections summary which is more exhaustive and
easier to use than the original summary on the web. This document notes all
the known errors in the Manual and puts them in some context. A PDF version of
the supplement is available now. You can access the corrections summary right
here: http://supp.apa.org/style/pubman-reprint-corrections-for-2e.pdf

We are also going to provide a printed version of the supplement. If you want
a printed version, they are currently available and can be ordered through the
APA Service Center - 800 374-2721. These are designed to easily fit into your
copy of the Manual.

Many people have found that the corrections supplement meets their needs; if
you find however that it doesn't meet yours, we will send you a replacement
copy of the second printing (the second printing corrects all the known errors)
of the Manual at no cost to you.

Before you continue, please double-check to make sure that you have the first
printing. The second printing was released in spiral bound and hardcover in
August, and has been widely available. Go to the copyright page and look for
the words "Second Printing" and a copyright date of "August, 2009." If you
see that, then you have the corrected edition.

We are making the replacement process available to anyone who purchased the
manual. In order to receive a replacement manual, you will have to return your
current copy of the 6th edition to APA no later than December 15. We would
like to make this transaction cost neutral to you, and will have a pre-paid
postage plan in place. This process will be available between November 2nd and
December 15th. If you are interested in a replacement copy please contact the
APA Service Center after November 2 for further information - Service Center
staff can be reached at: 800 374-2721. Please note that we will not be able
to exchange instructor review copies.

Thank you again for taking the time to write to us, I hope these options meet
your needs.
