I was browsing through Barnes and Noble today and found a very
interesting book called "Idiot America: How Stupidity Became a Virtue
in the Land of the Free". The author makes a lot of great points that
made me think of why it's so hard to help our students distinguish
fact from fiction. There's a link below to a page on the web where
the author is interviewed. I highlighted it and inserted a few sticky
notes provided by my new WebNotes account. Sue Frantz introduced me
to WebNotes (www.webnotes.net). It's pretty cool - highly recommended
(thanks Sue!). At any rate, here's the interview with the author:

One of the commenters made a good point: what do we do about what the
author accurately points out? How to we address this problem?
