Kalamazoo College Psychology Department--Position Opening We are looking to hire a new or recent Ph.D. psychologist for a one-year, temporary position beginning late September 1999. We will consider any specialty but prefer someone with a research orientation. The teaching load is six courses: two courses in each of three 11-week terms. This load consists of three sections of introductory psychology (approximately 30 students per section) plus three courses in one's area of expertise. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining teaching experience in an institution committed to quality undergraduate education in the liberal arts tradition. Our Department also has a strong tradition of preparing students for graduate and professional study. We rank 19th among all U. S. colleges and universities in the proportion of our graduates who have gone on to earn doctoral degrees in psychology (HEDS, 1998). There is faculty development support for improving teaching as well as some support for research and publication.
