This is a good idea--my son's 5th grade class did this--they could explore
their own or another country for a "country report". My son chose Canada
rather than his own ethnicity (Polish, Welsh) because he wants to be
a hockey player and thinks he'll be moving to Canada some time soon!!!!

But it was a great experience for him to understand MUCH more of the
culture than just the hockey part--he even learned that there is much
controversy as to who 'invented' the game--european settlers or native
indians.
