Bob and gang: Although I don't feel that what Joyce Brothers provides is anywhere near as helpful as regular, in person counseling or treatment, what sets her apart from Dr. Laura is that she doesn't do any arrogant moralizing to her audience. She doesn't insult them and ride a high horse. The tone of her columns is more or less informative Folks aren't going to get real help from either Brothers or Dr. Laura, but Brothers is overall more benign and attempts to educate rather than humiliate. This is closer to the spirit of treatment, and certainly more humane than Dr. L's work. Nancy Melucci El Camino College Garden Grove, CA
