Hi folks,

I need to pick your brains... (and I'm posting this to both TIPS and
TIPS-DEVELOP so apologize to those of you who will get duplicate
messages).

I'm working with someone in clinical psych who wants to produce a
handbook of readings in developmental psych, covering birth through
adolescence. He's interested in tracking down the most cited articles
and books/monographs, primarily over the past 25 years but also wants to
be sure to include "classic" works for historic contextual purposes.

Articles technically are not a problem to determine b/c of citation
indexes. Nonetheless, if you have any specific articles you'd
recommend--or authors to include--I'd appreciate your suggestions.

I'm particularly interested in your thoughts about books and
monographs--specific titles/editions or even just authors.
I know about GS Hall's Adolescence and probably can come up with other
historical works. I know less about the stuff of more recent vintage.

I haven't yet run searches in PsycINFO or checked the Annual Review of
Psych or ToP. I also haven't checked yet to see whether we own any
"readings" collections. I'm sure I'll turn up some "most cited"-type pubs
in all of these ways. But I also figure you folks will have some opinions
and probably will suggest things I may not otherwise identify. My target
date is 4/20. I'll compile all responses I receive and post them to
both lists shortly thereafter so you may want to send your recommendations
to me privately.

Thanks in advance!
Miriam
