I have had students tell me that the county in which our college is located (Benton County, Ark.) has the second highest divorce rate in the nation. I am aware of the number of misleading ways divorce rate statistics have been presented in the past and I wonder if anyone has the straight scoop on this. As to the specific rate information, I think the number of divorces granted to residents of the county as a ratio of married women in the county would be a useful rate for comparison. Is there a site on the internet that would list such things by county or is there another source of such information I could consult? If this information is unobtainable, where do these people hear this? I thank you for your time and effort.
