TIPSters:

I came across a nice teaching quote today (no, it's not the "lighting of
a fire" quote). Some of you may already be familiar with this, but for
those of you who aren't I thought I'd pass it along.

The mediocre teacher tells.
The good teacher explains.
The superior teacher demonstrates.
The great teacher inspires.

- William Arthur Ward

Given that members of this list are likely dedicated to maximizing our
teaching capability and performance, I hope that most of us are inspirers
and demonstrators, with few tellers among us (no offence to bank workers
intended!).

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who is familiar with Ward's writings.
