TIPSters: I have been appointed to a committee here at Tarleton State looking into a redefinition of what constitutes a terminal degree as related to tenure and promotion. Our faculty senate has recommended that the Master of Fine Arts, Master of Social Work, Juris Doctorate, along with the Certitified Public Accountant and a Computing Certification be considered terminal so that these individuals can be tenured and be eligible for promotion. What I would enjoy from the collective membership is how does your university deal with this issue? The more feedback the better. Thanks in advance.
