        The problem is, students with learning disabilities or those who attempted
more challenging courses would be penalized for their grades, while students
who selected only "slides" would be rewarded.

        I suspect the result would be for wealthy students to take serious courses
(and thus be prepared for more challenging opportunities in the workplace or
graduate school), since the cost wouldn't be a factor, while disadvantaged
students would feel real pressure to take "easy" grade courses to save money
for themselves or their parents.
