Today is a somber one; students here are upset by what happened in Colorado
and in all my classes are asking why this happened. I find myself at a loss for
words... we all have problems but clearly the majority of us don't resort to
violence. These were (purportedly) "nice, quiet" students who had
undergone changes in appearance, thought, and behavior (pretty descriptive, in
general, of adolescence). But what would drive anyone to commit such an act?
