May I suggest that there are four sides?

1. Inferential statistic (r, T, F, chi square etc): depends on the 
kind of data we have

2. p:  tells us whether we can reject H0 (there is a relationship not 
due to sampling error)

3. ES: reflects the size of the effect (small, medium, large)

4. Control of independent and confounding variables tells us about 
the attribution of causality.
