Hello everyone,

I am looking for some help. I am putting together a proposal for a new
class, at one of the community colleges, where I teach. It will
eventually be going in front of the curriculum committee for approval.
This is the first time I have decided to do this. The Dept. Chair is
supportive but doesn't have the time to work on this with me.

It is to be an introductory Psychobiology class. Any suggestions would
be appreciated. Any course curriculum pertaining to this subject would
be appreciated. Anything you have currently pertaining to this would be
useful! Also what text book could someone recommend?

I am a member of the adjunct faculty at a couple of different
colleges. I enjoy the biological perspective and it would add to our
transferable classes. It would also aid in my quest to end my freeway
flying and have a school I could call home. I am forty-five and went
back for my M.A. in 1997. I sometimes wonder based on my C.V. if I am
considered too old (actual age) or too young (grad. date) for full-time
and how to broach the subject, if at all, when I apply for full-time
positions. Your feedback would be appreciated.

I do love teaching and left a successful business career to follow my
heart. I just get a little down regarding the chances of my getting a
full time position at one school. I know a Phd. would help but I really
don't have the funds at this time. I feel fortunate to be able to have
landed a couple of part-time positions right after graduation. But I do
long for one college and the time it would give me to become super
involved in the Psychology Dept. (there are so many things that could be
done).

Thanks,
Donette Steele M.A.
