Be careful about dismissing the "European System" as out of style. I came
across this web page that seriously proposes that traditional phrenology is
an important tool for all kinds of things.

TIPsters might be interested (or dismayed) to know that
the art of reading character in the phiz is still popular. The
trick, apparently, is not to use the well-known 'European'
system of J. C. Lavater, but a much more ancient system
developed in China. So much for the much-quoted (but
never specifically attributed) comment, "all you Occidentals
look the same to me."
