Dear Bill:

I believe that the above statement is no longer true. But I would
prefer that we revert to it, especially to eliminate those annoying
double messages when people reply to a post.

Also, you never responded to the suggestion that steps be taken to
advertise TIPS to encourage new subscribers. At present, it seems the
only way to find out about it is through word-of-mouth. One suggestion
is that it be listed with LISZT (http://www.liszt.com/) and L-Soft
(http://www.lsoft.com/lists/listref.html). Perhaps it could also be
listed on prominent web pages, such as the APA (which sponsored us at
one time, didn't it?) and APS. Occasional mentions in journals would
be useful as well.

People are always leaving lists, and we need new people if we're to
continue to have interesting discussions. But how are they going to
find us unless we advertise?
