It seems quite clear to me that Dr. Laura makes her living from telling
lies (the prime current examples being her claim that the APA is on the

In this instance, my objection is to the fact that unlike you (Jim), she
takes her claim to be self-evident and not in need of the kind of research
support you made reference to. If her column read like your post, I'd have
no serious objection. If you read her column in toto, however, you couldn't
miss her dogmatism. In my opinion, dogmatism is among the worst of ethical
problems.
I'd like to point out that I have tried to give her the benefit of the
doubt a couple of times when we discussed her on this list, and I've even
backed off some comments I made about her. I don't think I'm throwing stones
in a glass house here...
