Hi out there --

Quite serendipitously, I stumbled into a new research area, "free-riding"
in virtual work groups. A colleague and I are planning a series of analog
studies using students enrolled in a Computer Architecture course [and
possibly others], who will complete group projects either virtually [using
Lotus Notes TeamWork software], or in the traditional face-to-face,
student-organized meetings. The "free-riding" piece is mine; she's
looking at other stuff [effects of interpersonal and groups skills
training].

I'm curious if any of you have had experiences using "groupware" in the
classroom [or out of it, I guess], and if anyone has relevant citations,
I'd of course be interested :)
