I have to admit the ending to that article (see URL above) was a bit
disappointing:
"The journal editors said they ``take responsibility for the
media's overinterpretation'' of the study's findings and said they
should not have allowed the use of odds ratios in the study's
summary."
If people won't understand it, you can't use it. I wonder if this is
another "overinterpretation" of what the journal editors actually said.
