Hi Gary,
As luck would have it, I just received one such resource
in the mail. Buyer beware, however, since I have yet
to examine it closely (actually, I've yet to even skim it over).
It's a book called "Exploring Perceptions" by Colin Ryan
and it comes with a CD-ROM enclosed. It's published
by Brooks/Cole:
http://www.brookscole.com/brookscole.html
Here's what the back cover has to say (after several
enthusiastic quotes by a few academics):
"This user-friendly, highly interactive, and engaging CD-ROM
takes you on a multimedia voyage through classic sensory
and perceptual phonomena [sic] and explores its sensory
and neurophysiological roots."
"You can view the programs 240 modular concept
explorations in any order you wish, freeing you from having
to follow a predetermined, linear path. Each interaction has
a built-in mini-quiz and flags key complementary readings
in the major sensation and perception texts. Modules include:
apparent movement; color perception; visual illusions;
sensory systems and neural coding; simultaneous color
contrast; Gestalt laws of organization; and many more! The
program's powerful Organizer keeps track of the
explorations you have successfully completed It also allows
instructors and students to sequence and automatically play
interactions in any order - - without having to navigate the
package! The simple on-board Tutorial will quickly enable
you to get the best out of Exploring Perception and
effectively utilize its simple modular structure and powerful
built-in functions."
PC requirements:
486 processor or later; 33 MHz or better
Windows 3.0 or later
640x480, 256-color monitor
16 MB RAM recommended
Minimum double-speed CD-ROM

"It is morally as bad not to care whether a thing
is true or not, so long as it makes you feel good,
as it is not to care how you got your money as
long as you have it."
