Gary, another of my points. Religion does not have all the answers
because some of the questions are outside the realm of religion. I think
that religion--notice that I did not say "church"-- provides a moral,
ethical set of principles, even a spirituality. But, gets in trouble when
religionists erroneously try to make judgement in the empirical realm of
science. I am reminded of the opposition to Paul Ehrlich's cure for
syphylis--the western world's then No. 1 killer-at the beginning of the
century because it interferred with the wrath of God's judgement on the
immoral. Of course, the opposite it true when scientists make
proclamations about religious belief and faith.
Make it a good day.
